BALTIMORE, MD --8/4/04-- ....Story looks at how streets get their names. Some are named after generals, authors and baseball players. We're putting together an illustration to show street signs and the people they're named after. Tracey Logsdon is laying this out. We need shots of the street signs straight on for the illustration. Please shoot these at your leisure. Our deadline is Monday, Aug. 9. ..The streets include:....-- Triandos Drive in Timonium, near East Timonium Road, west of Pot Spring Rd. (named for a former Oriole baseball catcher)....-- Bellona Avenue, Ruxton to 5500 block of York Road (named for Roman goddess of war)....-- Mondawmin Avenue off Gwynn Falls Parkway, in Southern Mondawmin (named for a cornfield)....-- Aliceanna Street in Fells Point (named for wife of John Bond)....-- Light Street in downtown Baltimore - named for Cpt Darby Lux, revolutionary leader ....-- Beason Street, in Locust Point, named for Private Thomas V.
